Kazakh President extends congratulations on International Women’s Day

A ceremonial event marking International Women’s Day was held today at the Akorda Presidential Palace. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the participants on the March 8 holiday and expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to all Kazakh women. He noted that throughout the country’s history many women, side by side with men, have shown courage and patriotism. Today’s generation proudly continues this path. Kazakh women work successfully in all sectors, making a significant contribution to the country’s development. Their role will only grow as Kazakhstan embarks on large-scale modernization, the President emphasized. The draft new Constitution of Kazakhstan is aimed precisely at such strategic development.

«Kazakhstan has pursued and will continue to pursue a responsible social policy based on the principle of targeted support for citizens who truly need it. For example, in our country, substantial social benefits are provided starting from the birth of a child. As the Head of State, I pay and will continue to pay special attention to supporting motherhood and childhood. I consider this work extremely important, even a priority among the President’s many responsibilities. The necessary legislative and institutional measures have already been adopted in this area. Now, at the constitutional level, we are significantly strengthening the institution of the family as a crucial factor for the stable development of society the President said.

Tokayev also presented a number of state awards to Kazakh women who have made a significant contribution to Kazakhstan’s socio-economic and cultural development.
