Kazakh pensioner reaches Paris by bicycle

Rabbim Borashev, a pensioner from Kazakhstan, covered the distance of over 5,000 kilometers by bicycle to support the domestic athletes at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris. He was solemnly welcomed by the employees of Kazakhstan’s Embassy in France, the country’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev, and French public figures at the Arc de Triomphe. The resident of the Mangystau region first traveled from Aktau to Baku, then crossed the border of Georgia, and in June set off for Türkiye. He traveled through Hungary, Austria, and Germany and arrived in France. Thus, the pensioner fulfilled his lifelong dream – to see the 2024 Summer Olympics.
