Kazakh Olympic medalists return home from Paris

Kazakh Olympic medalists returned home from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Among them was Nurbek Oralbay, who secured a silver medal in boxing. A festive atmosphere reigned at Astana airport, where Kazakh citizens warmly welcomed the athlete with flags, banners, songs, and well-wishes. Oralbay admitted that he had hoped to win a gold medal.

«This was my first Olympics and it was certainly challenging, as the opponents were strong. Of course, all athletes participate in the Olympics to win, not to lose, and make every effort to show great results. I hoped to win a gold medal but ended up with second place. But I believe I will do my best at the next Olympic Games,» Oralbay said.

Meanwhile, hundreds of fans, along with family members and friends, welcomed Kazakh boxer Nazym Kyzaibay with applause and songs at Almaty airport. She won a bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics after reaching the semifinals in the women’s 50-kilogram weight category.
