The memory of the
pioneer of Kazakh animation, Amen Khaydarov, was honored in Turkey. To
commemorate the animator’s 100th birth anniversary, a digitized version of the
first domestic cartoon entitled ‘Why the Swallow Has the Tail with Little
Horns’ was presented. This animated film, based on the Kazakh folk tale, was
directed by Khaydarov in 1967. It is noteworthy that the cartoon received
numerous awards and was screened in 48 countries. Additionally, Khaydarov was
the creator of other notable animations, including ‘Aksak Kulan’ (A Lame
Kulan), ‘Tail’, ‘Khoja-Nasyr – Builder’, ‘Sunny Bunny’, and ‘The Magic Carpet’.
