Kazakh metallurgists receive state awards

Last year, the mining and metallurgical sector contributed around 7% to Kazakhstan’s economy and currently employs over 110,000 people. In celebration of Metallurgist Day, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov presented state awards to industry professionals on behalf of the President. He emphasized that the development of the sector remains a government priority. Efforts will continue to modernize production facilities, develop new deposits, and introduce advanced technologies. This year, for the first time, the Head of State established honorary titles as state awards: Kazakhstannyn enbek sinirgen kenshisi and Kazakhstannyn enbek sinirgen onerkasip kairatkeri. In total, the achievements of more than 600 mining and metallurgical professionals from across the country were recognized.

«Today is a special day for me, and this award holds great significance. I believe it is the result not only of my work but also of the efforts of all my colleagues. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev for this high honor and for recognizing my work,» said Gulbanu Zhumadildinova, a flotation operator at a Kazakhmys Corporation branch.
