Kazakh Emergencies Ministry reports on country’s preparedness for fire-prone season

This year, Kazakhstan anticipates a hot and dry summer, increasing the risk of natural wildfires. To address this, a special task force of around 50,000 personnel and over 10,000 units of specialized equipment has been prepared. According to the country’s Emergency Situations Ministry, 19 aircraft from the Kazaviaspas fleet, nine of which are equipped with spillway devices, are continuously on standby. There are also 120 drones for aerial reconnaissance. Additionally, a national civil protection service has been established to coordinate firefighting efforts in case of major wildfires. Overall, the country is actively implementing the Action Plan for the prevention and elimination of natural fires. Mineralized strips are being created in the regions to protect residential areas from steppe or forest fires.
