Kazakhstan and China
are set to expand cultural cooperation. The Mazhilis, a Lower House of the
Kazakh Parliament, ratified an intergovernmental agreement for the mutual
establishment of cultural centers in the capitals of the two countries, Astana
and Beijing. According to the concept, the Kazakh Cultural Center will be
located in a building with a total area of 700 square meters. It will include a
cinema and concert hall, along with a coworking center with a special area for
educational courses, training sessions, and creative meetings. Additionally,
there will be a multimedia space for exhibitions and a corner dedicated to
showcasing Kazakhstan’s tourism potential.
«The mission of the Kazakh Cultural Center in China is to promote
mutual cultural enrichment and enhance the two peoples’ knowledge of each
other. It aims to foster friendly relations, facilitate exchanges and
cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, and systematically present the rich
cultural heritage of the Kazakh people to a broad Chinese audience and numerous
foreign tourists visiting Beijing,»
said Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva.
