Kazakhstan aims to increase the share of processed products in the agro-industrial sector to 70%. During a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov reported that food production in the country grew by nearly 15% in the first half of the year. At the same time, export volumes are rising, while the range of products supplied to foreign markets continues to expand. Agricultural exports reached $3 billion, exceeding the figure recorded during the same period last year by more than one-third. By the end of 2026, exports are expected to increase to $7.2 billion, while gross agricultural output is projected to grow by almost 6%. Overall, the sector is expected to attract more than 2 trillion tenge in investment this year. Following the meeting, the Head of State instructed that special attention be given to the development of processing, the manufacture of high-value-added products, and the further expansion of export opportunities for Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.
«With the support of the
President, Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector has received an unprecedented level
of funding, while state support measures have been significantly expanded. A
loan guarantee mechanism has also been introduced through the Damu Fund,
alongside a mechanism for financing working capital through
social-entrepreneurial corporations. As a result of these measures, crop
production continues to show steady growth. Following the President’s
instructions, particular emphasis is also being placed on the development of
livestock farming. To this end, a comprehensive sector development plan has
been adopted. A new concessional lending program has also been launched, with
the necessary funding secured,» Saparov said.
