President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with Kokshetau’s general development plan until 2050. The city’s area is set to expand by 7,000 hectares. With
population growth expected, around 10 million square
meters of housing are planned to be commissioned. Construction is already
underway on a thermal power plant, a multidisciplinary hospital, a civil
defense academy, and a multifunctional sports complex. An industrial zone is
also being developed.
The Head of State was also briefed on the project for the unified public space Kok Shalgyn in Kokshetau. Key city landmarks - the Eternal Flame park, the Alley of Glory, and Independence Square - will be integrated into a single tourist route with a cohesive architectural design.
At the Digital Aqmola center, President Tokayev was shown the operation of the i-Komek Unified Contact Center, along with monitoring systems for transport, housing and utilities, safety, ecology, and healthcare. He was also briefed on the region’s investment projects. For instance, in the agricultural sector, artificial intelligence has been introduced on a pilot basis to help increase crop yields. Additionally, the supply of natural gas to Kosshy was officially launched via teleconference.
During his working trip
to the Akmola region,
the Head of State visited the Chess House in Kokshetau. Previously, this building
had served as the regional presidential residence, but at the instruction of
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, it was handed over for children’s use. Today, the
specialized center hosts training camps, master classes by leading
grandmasters, and provides a venue for athletes to prepare for prestigious
tournaments.
