Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the
Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam international judo tournament. Joining the Head of
State in the stands were Marius Vizer, President of the International Judo
Federation, and Olympic champion Yeldos Smetov. This year, 358 athletes from 46
countries took part in the competition. Kazakh judokas won nine medals – three
silver and six bronze. Notably, Astana is hosting the prestigious Grand Slam
tournament for the third time.
