The results of the international children’s and youth theatre festival entitled ‘Theatre – Creativity – Talent’ were summarized in Nur-Sultan. Both professionals and amateurs aged 8 to 23 took part in it. The jury assessed the contestants in three nominations: performance, declamation and original genre. The performance of each group was evaluated by Honored Figures of Culture of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
“Their talent is obvious, therefore, it was not that hard, after some kind of dispute, we came up with one conclusion anyway. Every entrance is a springboard, because each performance is a test, some kind of barrier that you step over to overcome your fears,” said Yerlan Karibayev, an actor, jury member.
‘The Scent of Wormwood’ play by Sain Muratbek is about how children were left without parents, fathers, brothers during the war, and about how much these kids miss them. We wanted to show it all. They did it brilliantly, we suppose the jury enjoyed,” said Daulet Nagashybek, a festival participant.
The contest was held as part of the Children’s Year.
