The International Monetary Fund improved its forecast of growth for Kazakhstan’s GDP from 3 to 3.2 percent in 2021, pointing to the good vaccination rate against coronavirus in the country. According to the Fund’s experts, the growth of the country’s economy will reach 4 percent in 2022.
At the same time, the Fund worsened its outlook for GDP growth of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. GDP level of the rest of the Central Asian countries will remain the same, analysts noted.
“As for the Middle East and Central Asia, forecasts for 2021 generally remain unchanged, but reflect significant differences between countries, depending on the pandemic spread, vaccine introduction, dependence on tourism, oil price dynamics, as well as room for maneuver and actions in politics,” the statement says.
