Ultrasound machines
and computer tomographs are set to be manufactured in Kazakhstan. A global
leader in the production of medical equipment and digital solutions for healthcare
systems plans to establish a plant in the country. The corresponding agreement
was reached during the visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the
U.S. Additionally, a framework document signed between the parties encompasses
other priority areas of the healthcare industry. A number of joint investment
projects are planned to be implemented as part of the long-term cooperation.
“This framework
agreement consists of four main parts, covering the establishment of local
production on the territory of Kazakhstan, the expansion of service support,
training programs, and assistance in the digitalization of medical
infrastructure,” said Elena Legezina, President and CEO of GE Healthcare in
Russia/CIS.
The Pfizer company
is also interested in manufacturing its products in Kazakhstan. One of the
world's largest pharmaceutical corporations has announced its readiness to
build a pharmaceutical plant in the country. According to Kazakh Health
Minister Azhar Giniyat, the primary focus of the new facility will be on
vaccine production.
“The project
involves establishing a pharmaceutical plant in Kazakhstan to produce a vaccine
against pneumococcal disease. This represents a highly effective preventive
measure for lung illnesses. The vaccine is administered to young children to
prevent pneumonia and also to the elderly, especially those with lung
disorders, to prevent the exacerbation of their conditions,” Giniyat said.
