Experts from the Kazakhstan Institute for
Strategic Studies (KazISS) gathered to discuss key aspects amid global
challenges, including the impact of climate change, technological revolution,
demographic growth, and pandemic threats on modern Kazakh society. The
open-format discussion brought together researchers, analysts, and public
representatives, focusing on economic realities and future growth forecasts.
Analysts shared their perspectives on overcoming barriers to sustainable
development. During the event, KazISS Director Yerkin Tukumov presented his
book, «The Future of Kazakhstan: A «Narrow Corridor» of Opportunities.» The publication
examines the country’s past, present, and future, where the author emphasizes
the need for Kazakhstan to integrate into the global landscape while preserving
its national identity.
«To build a future that we need, that meets
our national interests, we must act now – choosing tools and values that unite
us as Kazakh citizens and understanding our history. We must avoid populism and
propaganda. We need an honest, frank conversation. So I, as the author, tried
to raise these issues in the book. This symbiosis of modernization and
traditions will allow us to move forward,» said Yerkin Tukumov, Director of the
Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic
of Kazakhstan.
