‘Marathon of Good Deeds’ project continues in Kazakhstan

The implementation of a large-scale volunteer project ‘Marathon of Good Deeds’ continues in Kazakhstan. This year, a nationwide initiative will be dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence, Chairperson of the Committee for Civil Society Affairs Madiyar Kozhakhmet announced at a press briefing. He said that the scale of the national charitable project and the number of its participants have become truly enormous. In the last month alone, nearly 1,500 charitable events were carried out, with the participation of almost two million empathic Kazakh residents. Kozhakhmet noted that in the last year alone, the number of volunteer organizations and groups increased threefold. To date, there are more than 600 of them.

“We launched the national front office of volunteers ‘Birgemiz’, and also created the infrastructure for the development of the volunteer movement in 17 regional offices. Now we focus on the ‘QazVolunteer.kz’ platform. A single information resource, which united more than 47,000 volunteers and more than 3,000 organizations, became the impetus for the implementation of a large number of projects,” said Madiyar Kozhakhmet, spokesperson, Kazakh Ministry of Information and Social Development.
