Exotic plants thrive in Kyzylorda

Ybyraikhan Mussabayev, a Kazakh pensioner from the Kyzylorda region, has been acclimating exotic plants for the past 15 years. His garden is home to tropical fruits and flowers that thrive in temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. In addition to rare shrubs like peacock flower and wisteria, he also grows pomegranates and even palm trees. These tropical plants have adapted well to the region’s arid climate.

«Flowers, like people, need care. It’s not enough to just plant and water them. They require understanding, warmth, and attention. They are living beings and can feel how they are treated,» the gardener said.

The pensioner’s passion requires a lot of effort. Although not all plants survive, his failures don’t stop him, but motivate to keep going. Mussabayev continues his experiments, and his efforts are paying off, with vibrant blooms and fragrant fruits that impress everyone.
