The frontline press, military campaign posters, and the
literary legacy of Kazakh writers who served on the front lines are featured in
an exhibition at the Museum of the First President in Astana. Unique archival
materials have been provided by the Museum’s collections and the National State
Book Chamber. More than 160 exhibits are on display, many of which are being
presented for the first time. Additionally, visitors can experience them with
sound and light effects. As the organizers highlight, it is important to
preserve the historical memory of Kazakhstan's contribution to the Victory
through its artistic and literary heritage, archival sources, and search
efforts.
«The famous lieutenant prose of Kazakh literature began with
the works of Malik Gabdullin and Bauyrzhan Momyshuly. These individuals, who
participated in World War II, recorded their feelings, impressions, and the
truths they discovered on the front lines during their free time,» said Kulyaisha
Aktayeva, Director of the Museum of the First President.
«These are unique materials that are not available to
everyone, which is why we have specially displayed them for public viewing. For
example, here you can see publications from 1941 that describe the start of the
war, as well as reports on the victory from May 9, 1945,» said Adil Koitanov,
Director of the National State Book Chamber.
