Eco-waste recycling plant to be built in Kazakhstan

A waste-to-energy plant will be built in Almaty, with a Chinese company set to invest $270 million in its construction. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed the project with the company’s management. Construction is expected to begin in June. The plant is designed to process 2,000 tonnes of waste per day, generating up to 60 megawatts of electricity. During construction, the investor plans to use technologies that meet the most advanced global environmental safety standards.
