Kazakhstan will start booster vaccination of the population against coronavirus. As the country’s Health Ministry noted before, re-immunization will begin on November 20. Meanwhile, doctors advise those people who have been vaccinated with Sputnik V to receive an inactivated vaccine after nine months, and those who have been vaccinated with QazVac or Vero Cell to get Sputnik V after six months. They also explained that there is no need to take an antibody test before the booster dose.
“First of all, we recommend that weakened people get vaccine booster shot. These are elderly people aged over 65. Why? Because we often see that there are more people over the age of 60 in the hospitals, including all those with weakened immune system and those in the forefront – healthcare workers and law enforcement officers,” said Elvira Ibragimova, Deputy Director, Central Clinical Hospital in Almaty city.
