To
facilitate lending for large investment projects, Kazakhstan has adopted
legislative amendments aimed at developing syndicated lending. The document
provides for expanding syndicate participation by including foreign banks and
strengthening collateral rights. Last year, a Project Office was established
with the involvement of development institutions and private banks to support
these initiatives. As a result, eight projects worth 1.4 trillion tenge have
been approved, with financing already underway for half of them. Additionally,
the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market reports
ongoing efforts to digitize business lending procedures. Specifically, the
integration of banks with state databases continues. In this area, the information
systems of financial institutions have been connected with 37 services related
to legal entities, real estate, taxes, licensing, registration applications,
income, and more.
