A sensational find in Atyrau region. The burial of warriors of Sarmatian period was found here during archaeological excavations. Archaeologists were working near the village of Mukyr in Kyzylkoga district. The remains of three warriors were found in one mound, and now they will be sent for anthropological research. The archaeologists also found arrows, a spear, a sword and a clay jug.
“The Karakuduk group of mounds was investigated by archaeologists in 2012. The mounds are believed to be monuments of the history of the Sarmatian era. The archaeological expedition will consist of two stages. At the second one, we plan to organize an international expedition,” said Amangeldy Zainov, archaeologist.
