The Bozok state open-air museum-reserve is set to become a
new attraction for tourists from around the world. It is being built around a
medieval archaeological site, the ancient settlement of the same name, located
near the capital. Last year, more than 150,000 people visited the Bozok
settlement, with the majority of tours conducted online. In addition to
excursions, the site also hosts specialized lessons, lectures, and interactive
sessions. All events aim to promote the historical and cultural heritage of
Kazakhstan. Overall, from 2019 to 2024, the museum has welcomed over half a
million visitors.
«We are working on the issue of improving Buzykty Lake. Currently,
it is a historical landscape and a stopover for migratory birds, such as swans,
whooper swans, pelicans, cormorants, and seagulls. The area is also home to
relict plants that must be preserved within their historical context, alongside
the Bozok ancient settlement, creating a unified complex,» said Deputy Director
of the Bozok Museum-Reserve Alisher Bespalinov.
