A publication of the well-known Azerbaijani historian and political scientist Teimur Oktai ogly Atayev under the title ‘Greatness of Abai’ was presented in Kazakhstan’s capital. The book is dedicated to the Kazakh educator and poet. The author came up with the idea to release this book during his trip to Kazakhstan. In his work, he refers to the most important historical events of the country and significant periods in the biography of the famous philosopher. The thoughts and worldview of Abai Kunanbaiuly are relevant at all times and are an invaluable legacy not only for the Kazakh people, but also for all mankind, Atayev opined. The presentation of the book was held with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy.
“Abai had the great personality. His works seems to speak about current times. That is, the topics that he raised a century ago are relevant today. Abai is considered the educator and scientist not only of the Kazakh people, but of the entire Turkic world. And this is true. He was a person who always brought up a wide range of topics. I sometimes compare him with our Azerbaijani educators Mirza Fatali Akhundov and Gabdulla Tukay. I’d say that these scientists formed education,” said Teimur Oktai Oglu Atayev, a book’s author.
