Preparations for the arrival of distinguished guests in Kazakhstan are in full swing. Several events will be held this week, including the Sixth Summit of Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia scheduled for October 13, which will be attended by 11 leaders of states. Kazakhstan has been chairing CICA for two years. Meanwhile, the forum itself marks its 30th anniversary.
“I believe that it would be a great chance to somehow resolve conflicts. Astana has become a friendly arena, which enables countries to negotiate and reach agreements. Therefore, not only our country, but the whole world expects that the meeting with the participation of 11 heads of state in Astana would lead to some sort of consensus,” said political analyst Samat Nurtaza.
The participants of the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State will also discuss diplomatic issues in Astana. This year, Kazakhstan chairs the first Central Asia – Russia summit. The upcoming events prove again that Kazakhstan can act as a mediator and connecting bridge between various centers of influence globally. As the CICA chair, Kazakhstan plans to not only hold regular negotiations, but also to insist on the forum’s transformation into a full-fledged international organization. This was stated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
