The largest
Innovation Technopark in Central Asia, Astana Hub, celebrated its fifth
anniversary. During this period, the combined revenue of its participating IT
companies exceeded $1.5 billion, and the volume of attracted investments
surpassed $500 million. The accomplishments of the hub over the years were
highlighted today in the capital as part of the Demo Day for the fourth batch
of the Silkway Accelerator program. It is worth noting that a unique
educational project was organized by Astana Hub in collaboration with Google for
Startups. Out of nearly 200 applications received for training, the 15 best
projects from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and
Uzbekistan were selected. The 12-week intensive program was successfully
completed by 12 startups, and at today’s event, they showcased their
capabilities, aiming to find investors and expand into new markets. Kazakh
Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat
Mussin familiarized himself with the presented projects.
“To date, Astana
Hub has exceeded 1,300 registered startups within its ecosystem. These startups
make substantial contributions to the country's economy, employing 20,000
people across these companies. I think that this year’s exports of IT products
will reach $500 million, a noteworthy figure. The country’s IT industry is on
the rise and acts as a multiplier, extending into all sectors of the economy,” Mussin
said.
