An international forum, NU GLOBAL: Unity in Diversity,
was held in Astana, becoming the final event of the summer
cultural exchange initiative. As part of the program, students, alumni, and
faculty members from 35 countries took part in a grant competition for social
projects and visited four regions of Kazakhstan. The main objective was to establish common ground and foster both
friendly and professional connections, despite cultural and linguistic
differences. The forum was organized by the Social Development Fund of Nazarbayev University, which supports student-led projects. The fund has helped launch more than 70 social projects and over 100 student
clubs.
«We put talent at the very center of our mission. That is why we want every talent to discover its full potential at our university. In this regard, the university now faces major tasks in internationalizing its education. By doing so, we demonstrate that a Kazakh university is reaching a global level — not just in words but in practice — and will be connected to the entire world through these threads of friendship, education, and networking created by our students,» said NU Impact Foundation Chairman Sayat Nyussupov.
«Today, it is a fully functioning ecosystem that
supports student initiatives, assists international students, and helps those with limited financial means access
opportunities and focus on their studies. Additionally, the NU Impact
Foundation supports the development of infrastructure, particularly for
research and new initiatives,» shared forum participant Alisher Bekmustafayev.
