The Astana Ballet Theatre has opened its 10th anniversary season with a fascinating ballet “Silk Road”. The authors immersed the audience in a plastic journey along the Great Road, where the civilizations, eras and destinies have intertwined for centuries.
“This ballet is like a meditation, something that the audience is not used to see. There are no revealed characters or plots. It has only a synthesis of dance and cultures. The performance itself was excellent. We have brilliant costumes, and amazing accompaniment of dance music,” Ainur Abilgazina, leading soloist at the Astana Ballet theatre, said.
A whole new theatre season will be just as colorful and intense. Spectators will enjoy new performances in a unique choreographic interpretation as always.
“Two ballets are scheduled to be staged until the end of 2022. Alberto Alonso’s one-act ballet “Carmen Suite” and “The Snow Queen” for our young spectators by Georgy Kovtun, who previously staged the performances “Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu”,” said Nurlan Kanetov, Astana Ballet theatre’s artistic director.
