The first World Inclusion Congress (WIC) is
set to take place this autumn in Almaty. The event is expected to bring
together government representatives, educators, technology companies, and
experts, with a total of 5,000 participants from over 30 countries. They will
share best practices and developments in the field of inclusion. This
information was announced during the regional stage of the congress, which was
held in the capital. Similar events will be organized in Kokshetau and
Tashkent. In Almaty, the signing of a strategic document - the Declaration on
Implementing Inclusive Education - is expected. Experts believe that hosting
such a large-scale event will be an important step in promoting Kazakhstan as a
global leader in the development of an inclusive society. Currently, the
country has all the necessary conditions for this. Almost all schools have
created a barrier-free environment.
«This initiative was proposed to Kazakhstan,
and the government, specifically the Ministry of Education, supported it. As
you know, at the National Kurultai (Congress), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
also announced that educational centers for children with special needs would
be built in every regional center. Additionally, just a few days ago, a sports
complex was opened in support of inclusion. Thus, significant work is underway,»
noted Yermek Mazhitov, CEO of the first World Inclusion Congress.
