Starting August 1, Kazakhstan will conduct a nationwide
agricultural census in two phases. The first phase will run through August 31,
followed by the second, which will continue until October 20. The relevant
ministry is encouraging farmers across the country to participate. This
large-scale statistical survey will cover all regions, aiming to reach
approximately 2 million households and more than 300,000 agricultural
producers. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, over 3,500
interviewers - including postal workers - will conduct the survey.
«For the first time, the census will use GPS monitoring to
efficiently track interviewers. The system will record when interviewers arrive
at a household, when they begin the survey, and how long it takes to complete.
GPS tracking will be activated automatically at the start of each visit. The
data collected during the census will be provided to the Ministry of
Agriculture, organized by districts and rural areas, and will be used to
support the development of the agricultural sector,» said Bek Makhsatuly, head of
department at the Bureau of National Statistics.
