The Adilet Party has established a Business Council, a permanent platform
for cooperation between the government, businesses, and experts. Seven
co-chairs will oversee key sectors of the economy. The announcement was made by
party chairman Aibek Dadebai during a meeting with representatives of the
transport and logistics sector. According to Dadebai, the logistics sector is a
major contributor to the economy. Last year, it grew by nearly 20.5%,
accounting for more than 6% of the country’s GDP, while transit freight volumes
exceeded 39 million tonnes. The meeting focused on railway tariffs, attracting
investment, expanding international road freight transport, and the digital
transformation of the industry.
«In
his 2023 state-of-the-nation address, the President set the strategic goal of
making Kazakhstan a fully fledged transport and logistics power. That same
year, the Ministry of Transport was re-established. More importantly, the way
this objective is understood has changed. Transit is no longer just about
roads, railways, and terminals. It is becoming a standalone sector of the
economy, generating revenue, creating jobs, and driving economic growth,» Dadebai said.
