Kazakhstan is set to export
frozen meat to Iran following the signing of a corresponding memorandum between
the two parties. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, this document
paves the way for new opportunities in the export of domestic products. It is
noteworthy that previously, producers could only export chilled beef to Iran,
with a shelf life of up to three days. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is planning to
invest in new meat projects. Over 152 billion tenge of private capital is
planned to be attracted for the implementation of 22 facilities, scheduled for
2023-2026. According to the relevant ministry, two projects have already been
launched in the Mangystau and Turkistan regions, with three more anticipated by
year-end. Among these initiatives is a livestock complex with a slaughterhouse
for 10,000 heads in the Ulytau region. The commissioning of cold storage
warehouses with subsequent processing and sale of sausage products is also
planned. Moreover, plans include the launch of a meat processing plant in the
Almaty region by the end of 2023. There are also considerations for the
construction and launch of a feedlot with a feed base in the Zhetisu region.
Additionally, the construction of a broiler poultry complex is expected in the
Turkistan region next year. There are also plans to launch a facility for the
breeding, slaughter, and deep processing of turkeys.
