30 more Kazakh companies to obtain Gold Supplier status on largest Chinese marketplace

Another 30 Kazakh companies will be able to obtain Gold Supplier status on the Alibaba international marketplace. The second phase of selection for participation in the program to enter the international marketplace has commenced for domestic enterprises. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Trade and Integration, a total of 44 companies have received Gold Supplier status since the start of the year. These organizations include manufacturers of agricultural products, food products, machinery and equipment, vehicles, instruments and apparatus, as well as chemical products. Overall, the plan is to feature a total of 70 companies on the international trading platform this year.

“Product manufacturers, as well as intermediaries and trading companies, are eligible to apply for the program. In addition to payment for premium accounts, entrepreneurs will receive assistance in the verification process, website creation on the trading platform, and comprehensive consulting support. The Gold Supplier status gives companies priority in search results and serves as confirmation of product quality, demonstrating the supplier is a verified legal entity,” said Galymzhan Urazalin, Deputy Director of E-commerce Department at QazTrade.

Urazalin noted that Kazakhstan’s food products have established themselves as high-quality organic goods at an affordable price. For example, domestic honey has been the most sought-after product on the marketplace since 2020. There are a total of 5,000 Kazakh goods listed on the trading platform. The sales volume of domestic enterprises via the B2B marketplace exceeded $300 million from 2020 to 2022. It is worth reminding that products from 25 Kazakh brands are also available on another Chinese platform, JD.com.
