Where can Kazakh residents go for a beach vacation?

People in Kazakhstan increasingly choose a beach vacation within the country. Fortunately, the choice of directions is quite large. As they say, to anyone’s liking or budget. A significant increase in the flow of tourists is expected in the resorts of Alakol Lake this season. In this regard, the number of transports to the resort will be increased for the whole summer.

“We have increased the number of passenger trains departing from the cities of Semei, Oskemen, Nur-Sultan and Almaty. A new additional train will be launched from Almaty. The bus service has been doubled,” said Marat Kabakov, Head of Tourism and Foreign Affairs Department of East Kazakhstan Region.

Salt Lake Maraldy in Pavlodar region is also in the top of the favorite destinations of Kazakh residents. More than 60,000 tourists visit local resorts annually. And this figure will invariably grow, experts of the tourism industry hope. They have seriously taken up the improvement of the recreation areas infrastructure. In the future, they plan to attract tourists with the “All inclusive” concept.

“We are set to follow the principle of beach zoning in the future as well, that is, we will slightly expand the range of services, for example, which will be included in each zone. Ultimately, we plan to make a full-fledged VIP zone by 2023. Our dream is to make an all-inclusive zone,” noted investor Gulmira Otargaliyeva.

The Caspian Sea is also preparing for the arrival of tourists, who will be attracted by diving and spearfishing. Although there are a lot of tourists in the summer months anyway. Indeed, in addition to sandy beaches, there are many mineral springs with curative mud.

“Hotels are already waiting for their visitors. Many facilities are being built on the shore. In total, 12 projects are planned to be launched in 2021 to 2024,” said Gulsim Zhariyeva, spokesperson  for the Investments and Tourism Development Department of Mangystau Region.

Experts calculated that a week-long vacation on the coast of Alakol Lake will cost tourists about 100,000 tenge (US$232.6). A 7-day stay in the hotels of the Burabai resort will cost more than 150,000 tenge (US$348.9). Prices in Aktau start from 200,000 tenge (US$465.1).
