Statistics show that research and
development in Kazakhstan is in the spotlight. Twice as many services were
rendered in science this year, for more than 24 billion tenge in a quarter. Of
these, natural and technical sciences accounted for over 18 billion tenge,
finprom.kz reported. Growth for the reporting period reached 70 percent. In
particular, the volume of services rendered in research and development,
methodological and experimental design work in the geological industry totaled
5.3 billion tenge. Nearly two billion more were spent on research and
experimental development in biotechnology. Public and humanitarian services
also doubled to six billion tenge. Most scientific research was carried out in
large metropolitan areas. According to analysts, more than two thirds of the
total volume of services in the sector fell on Almaty and the capital, which is
ten billion, and more than 6.5 billion, respectively.
