A new terminal is set
to be built at Usharal airport, with design and estimate documentation
currently underway. Given the existing infrastructure, the facilities will
serve up to 125 passengers per hour. The airport now also accommodates large
aircraft following the runway’s reconstruction, with flights arriving from
Astana, Almaty, and Taldykorgan. The facility is crucial for tourism
development, considering the steady increase in tourist flow. Last year, the Zhetisu
region welcomed two million visitors and launched 17 new tourist sites with an
investment of 3.5 billion tenge. To further advance the sector, Kazakh Prime
Minister Olzhas Bektenov who recently visited the region on a working trip, has
instructed to enhance efforts to attract investments and develop the necessary
infrastructure.
