Unity. Creation. Progress: President Tokayev chairs session of People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan

Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the 33rd session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK), highlighting three pillars of strategic and successful development: Unity, Creation, and Progress. Solidarity, understanding, and support have always been and will remain the core values and guiding principles of the country’s state policy. This is evident in the coordinated efforts of all state structures and society conducted from the very first days of the natural disaster. The Head of State reiterated the priority of returning affected Kazakh citizens to a normal life, for which all efforts and resources, including those of ordinary citizens, have been mobilized. He also underscored the significant work carried out in the regions by the Assembly representatives.

“During these challenging weeks, the country is being tested for its resilience and ability to overcome this unprecedented natural disaster with dignity. Every crisis not only tests us but also reveals hidden strengths and abilities in each of us, creating new opportunities. Sooner or later, everything that hinders our progress in any way will be swept away by the tide of history and fade into oblivion. Thus, the current natural disaster is not a reason for depression and despondency. The path to progress is always winding and thorny, but successes and brighter days are sure to follow setbacks and hardships,” Tokayev said.

The Head of State has also thoroughly discussed the vision for the APK’s future development. He believes it is crucial to synchronize the Assembly’s activities with a new humanitarian and ideological doctrine grounded on patriotism, unity, tolerance, and intolerance to discrimination. The Assembly will focus on the ideological education of the youth and will take on the development and creation of new platforms for interethnic communication. Additionally, it is necessary to enhance the institutional capacity of the APK by teaching how to establish clear dialogue with government agencies.

“On my instruction, regional governors are required to hold meetings on the interethnic situation with the participation of APK representatives at least once every two months. I have instructed all regional governors to personally attend key Assembly events. It is necessary to consistently bolster the role of the Assembly in public decision-making and in supporting the reforms implemented in the country. To this end, it is important to develop the scientific and expert potential of the APK,” Tokayev added.

Next year, the APK will celebrate its 30th anniversary. As always, the institution of solidarity and unity intends to focus on implementing the core principle of modernity - ‘unity in diversity’ - into life.
