Surgeons in Astana are using next-generation technologies. An advanced
angiography system for minimally invasive vascular procedures involving the
heart, brain, and peripheral arteries is being successfully used at the Medical
Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration. Since the beginning
of the year, more than 800 procedures have been performed using this modern
equipment. The system enables doctors to carry out both diagnostic examinations
and surgical interventions. During the procedure, doctors receive detailed
real-time images of target areas of the body, allowing them to quickly identify
abnormalities and make treatment decisions. Most interventions are performed
through a small vascular access point, reducing the strain on the body and
lowering the risk of complications. Patients also recover significantly faster
and, depending on the complexity of the procedure, may be discharged as early
as the following day.
«It is one of the safest options for both patients and
medical staff. The system itself is outstanding. As I mentioned, it is a
next-generation system with a low radiation dose. Some procedures that
previously required open surgery can now be performed using endovascular
techniques,» said Maxat Temirkulov, an interventional
cardiologist at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s
Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
«I
was diagnosed with a pre-heart attack condition. They admitted me to the
hospital right away and took me straight to the operating room. There was a
huge monitor showing my heart, how the blood was flowing, and which vessels
were not functioning properly. After they placed the stent, everything went
back to normal. I started breathing freely again,» said Aidarbek
Kenzhekhan, a patient.
