Kazakhstan hosts national WorldSkills championship of working professions

Over 500 young Kazakh participants gathered in Astana from all over the country to compete in the WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2024 national championship, showcasing their expertise across 30 skill areas. The students demonstrate their skills in working professions and knowledge in fields such as robotics and information technology. Notably, winners will be selected for Kazakhstan’s national team to represent the country at the international championships in Denmark next year and in China in 2026.

«It can be confidently said that our students, who participated in the stages of the world championship, have demonstrated their competitiveness by winning six medallions this year. These awards recognize their professionalism at the global level. They showcased their skills at the international championship held in Lyon, France,» noted Sanzhar Tatibekov, President of the TALAP non-profit joint stock company.

Kazakh web developers have been gaining international recognition at world championships for four consecutive years. One of them is Ruslan Yussupov, who won two prestigious awards at the recent WorldSkills competitions. Currently, the young programmer is mentoring and serving as an expert, assessing the skills of participants in the national stage of the competition.

«We develop websites, ranging from simple web pages to large-scale web applications created by companies such as Google, Apple, Amazon, and others. Kazakhstan is currently considered a leader among Asian countries, and at the WorldSkills Kazakhstan 2024 championship, we managed to surpass all other Asian countries except for South Korea, which took first place. In the coming year, we also plan to stay on the cutting edge,» said independent web technology expert Ruslan Yussupov.
