Shymkent, which is one of the largest metropolises of Kazakhstan, entered the top three regions of the country in terms of growth in fixed-asset investment. Following the results of the first nine months of the current year, the volume of investments amounted to around 328 billion tenge. It is over a quarter more compared to the same period in 2021, energyprom.kz reports. According to data, the majority of investments are directed to the construction works, as well as major repairs of buildings and facilities. The segment share was just over 81 percent. Overall, the construction industry is one of the fastest growing ones in the region. It showed a tremendous growth of 40 percent this year. Over 25,000 people are employed in this sector, being among the top five employment-generating industries.
