«Run for Autism» charity race held in Astana

The third annual «Run for Autism» charity marathon took place in Astana, bringing together over 3,000 runners. Residents from various cities across Kazakhstan and other countries also took part remotely, including from Almaty, Karagandy, Pavlodar, Zhanaozen, Zhezkazgan, Oral, Petropavl, as well as London, Moscow, and Istanbul. The charity race is traditionally organized by the Bolashak Foundation with the support of partners. The event is primarily aimed at raising public awareness of autism spectrum disorders and other aspects of mental health. The funds raised will be used to open inclusion support offices.

«It’s not just people with special needs taking part. Today, 20 people with hearing impairments, cerebral palsy, and autism are running, along with a large number of representatives from foreign companies and diplomatic missions. The number of people joining our marathon is increasing, because we are not just running - we are running with meaning,» noted Dinara Gaplan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Bolashak Foundation.

«My son and I are participating in this race for the second time. Events like this help raise public awareness of this topic and support parents raising children with special needs. It’s not just a sporting event, but also a platform for unity, understanding, and inspiration,» said race participant Yeldos Imanbayev.
