A number of railway facilities in
Kazakhstan are being returned to state ownership, as was announced at the meeting
of the Commission on Economy Demonopolization chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister
Alikhan Smailov. He was informed about the court’s invalidation of the
transaction on the facilities transfer to the competitive environment as well
as cases of embezzlement of entrusted property. It bears noting that the
investigating authorities seized the assets and transferred them to the
management of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy national railway operator until the
final procedural decision. Smailov instructed to intensify work on similar
facilities in other regions of the country, emphasizing the importance of
preserving all engineering procedures and activities of employees of the
relevant enterprises. Additionally, an organization operating in the field of healthcare
sector may be returned to state ownership. An interdepartmental commission will
be created to verify the effectiveness of the facility management. After that,
a decision on the advisability of terminating the contract and returning the
asset to state property will be made.
