Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The parties
discussed prospects for further strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan
and China in trade, economy, energy, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, as
well as opportunities for expanding intergovernmental contacts. During the
meeting, the Head of State emphasized the exceptionally important role of China’s
diplomacy in global politics, noting that Chinese initiatives shape the global
agenda and make a significant contribution to maintaining international peace
and stability. President Tokayev referred to China as a recognized leader in
many fields such as manufacturing and export of goods, technological
innovation, economic growth, and international investments. He also highly
praised the Kazakh-Chinese relations within international organizations,
including the UN, SCO, and CICA. On his part, Wang Yi expressed gratitude to the
Head of State for the hospitality and conveyed best wishes on behalf of Chinese
President Xi Jinping. The Kazakh President noted his high expectations for the
upcoming state visit of the Chinese leader to Astana.
“Kazakhstan has always been a reliable
partner of China. We are exerting every effort to fulfill the agreements that
were previously reached. Indeed, our relationship and cooperation are directed
toward future endeavors,” said President Tokayev.
