Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev’s working trip to the Kyzylorda region started with a visit to a
village in the Syrdarya district. He toured the central square and a sports
complex, built with the support of a local enterprise. As one of the leading
agrarian facilities in the region, the sports complex offers football,
volleyball, table tennis and wrestling sections. Here President Tokayev talked
to teenagers, noting that the physical well-being of the youth holds the key to
the country’s future. In general, the President emphasized the great importance
of the Kyzylorda region’s development. According to him, unity and labor are
the main factors for Kazakhstan’s success and prosperity in the current
difficult geopolitical situation globally. On their part, residents thanked the
Head of State for his special attention to the agricultural sector.
“The village has a favorable environment
for the life and work of young people. We have the potential and opportunities
to create these conditions in more villages. When I meet with entrepreneurs, I
always encourage them to support rural development with investments. The Naga
Ilyassova village should serve as an example for other settlements. I believe
that other regions will also prioritize the development of rural areas,” he
said.
The Head of State got acquainted
with significant projects in the Kyzylorda region, particularly, the new
terminal at the Korkyt Ata airport, slated for commissioning next year. The facility
is set to serve 250 people per hour, a function that would increase the number
of flights and expand the range of destinations. The project valued at 20
billion tenge received most of the funds from sponsorship support. Besides, the
President was informed about the construction progress of the
Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan highway. He was briefed on the development of design and
estimate documentation for organizing four-lane traffic from Kyzylorda to the
Aktobe region’s border, a section of the Western Europe-Western China
international highway. Tokayev was also introduced to the project for a new
combined heat and power plant, which is expected to be operational by the end
of 2025, and contribute to the country’s energy security.
