Kazakh President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Otan Ana
Monument. The Head of State, together with veterans, home front workers, and
caring citizens gathered at the event, observed a minute of silence to honor
the memory of the soldiers who perished during World War II. The Presidential
Orchestra performed the National Anthem, and a guard of honor marched in front
of the attendees. President Tokayev extended his congratulations to the
veterans on Victory Day. Currently, there are 148 war veterans living in
Kazakhstan.
“This day marks
a great historical date that will forever be remembered. Our Kazakh warriors,
including Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, Talgat Bigeldinov,
Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, and many others, all made an invaluable
contribution to our path to victory,” said Bakhytzhan Yertayev, Head of the Tayelsiz
Qazaqstannyn Halyq Batyrlary public association and holder of the Halyk
Kaharmany title.
“I’d like to extend my congratulations to all Kazakh citizens on this
wonderful occasion. I wish you all good health,
happiness and, above all, that such difficult times never recur. The bravery of
our heroes will never be forgotten,” said Kazakh Prosecutor General Berik
Assylov.
