Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to institute the Caspian Sea Food Hub at the sixth summit of Caspian Sea countries. This will increase the trade turnover between the states. According to the President of Kazakhstan, a logistics infrastructure must be developed to strengthen the cooperation between the countries. The President also noted that Kazakhstan has started the construction of modern distribution centers with a system of food commodities storage and distribution.
“The system integration of these centers with the Caspian Food Hub can provide new opportunities for the effective cooperation of farmers, buyers, carriers, sellers and consumers. And the pivotal issue is to provide reliable guarantees for the distribution of all products delivered,” the Head of State said.
The Kazakh leader noted that the transit inflows must be developed. The President highlighted the great potential of Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway. In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the five countries should unite to preserve the Caspian Sea ecosystem, because the active exploitation of the subsoil and the resources transportation take a great toll on the ecology of the region.
