A book dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China was presented in Astana. The anniversary edition provides an analytical review of major milestones of the long-term development of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties. The book also contains a chronology of strategic documents and a complete list of bilateral agreements. The book was supplemented with rare photographs and unique background details. According to the authors, they collected all the material from the archives of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the Library of the First Kazakh President and the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper. The book is divided into three parts, including Kazakh, Chinese and Russian, and is intended for a wide range of readers.
“The importance of the book is that it describes the entire evolution of Kazakh-Chinese relations from the very first days of their establishment. It was crucial to show the issues the countries faced, the problems the both parties were concerned about, as well as the areas they were focused on. In the process of evolution - from the first meetings, the parties cooperated in terms of security issues, then trade, oil, gas and transport sectors. Today, Kazakhstan is a key country in the implementation of the modern Silk Road of the 21st century,” writing team member Timur Shaimergenov said.
