Kazakhstan has launched a pilot agricultural census, which will run until September 30. It aims to collect up-to-date information on the number of farms, livestock and poultry populations, the presence of buildings, agricultural machinery and equipment, as well as the technologies and resources used.
According to the relevant ministry, the collected data will enable analysis of the state of the industry, identification of trends and issues, and the development of strategic plans and state support programs. Thus, census data may be used to address matters related to subsidies and loans for agricultural producers. Additionally, the study will provide an opportunity to update information on land and crop areas in the country. The main stage of the agricultural census will be conducted next year from August 1 to October 20.
