More than 5.6 billion tenge (US$11.5 million) will be allocated to financing films in Kazakhstan. According to the results of the competition held by the State Center for the Support of National Cinema, 62 projects will receive support. These are mostly socially significant and animated films. Almost half a billion of the announced amount will be allocated to young filmmakers. Every year there are more debutants. This summer, dozens of young talents presented their works to the film jury. In total, 208 teams received permission to defend their projects. According to experts, preference was given to more budget-friendly movies that could become a start in life for novice filmmakers. Films intended for a wide audience will not be left without attention, 129.5 million tenge (US$271,717) will be allocated for their implementation, another 25 million (US$52,455) will go to films of joint production.
