The goods made by the ‘Ontustik’ special economic zone are exported to 23 countries. According to Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, 30 projects worth nearly 55 billion tenge (US$121.6 million) of investments were already implemented, and more than 2,000 jobs were created since the establishment of the SEZ. A textile cluster was formed in the enterprise. Small and medium-sized business entities are deployed there, including the major producers of carpets, yarn, pulp, and a hosiery factory. Residents of the special economic zone are provided with a number of benefits and preferences. Also, they are exempted from land, property and corporate income taxes.
