Construction of 100 new houses
for flood victims, with a budget allocation of 60 billion tenge, has commenced
in the North Kazakhstan region. Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev
announced this during his trip to the region, where he inspected the progress
of reconstruction efforts and met with the local population. The regional governor’s
office has been instructed to conduct assessments of the damaged housing within
a two-week period and initiate its restoration. It is noteworthy that three large
companies in the country have extended support to the affected residents.
“The Head of State reiterated that all losses
will be reimbursed at the expense of sponsors - representatives of our country’s
major businesses, who have already responded to the President’s call. As
of today, many companies have also expressed their readiness to assist the
residents of the affected regions. The total amount of assistance they are
ready to provide is 196 billion tenge. We have not yet fully assessed the
extent of the damage, but it involves the construction, repair and purchase of
houses for those affected. If these funds are insufficient, we will allocate
additional funds from the budget to rebuild homes,” Bozumbayev said.
Construction of the new houses involves 10
contracting organizations. The chosen site has the necessary engineering
infrastructure and utilities, enabling to commission the housing by mid-summer.
The project was initiated under a memorandum signed between the regional governor’s
office and the Kazakhstan Khalkyna fund. Additionally, Bozumbayev instructed
the country’s Ministry of Industry and Construction to supply the region with
the required building materials.
